When we were searching for an outfitter for our hunting trip, we simply wanted to do business with people who adhered to a higher ethical standard than what is generally accepted as normal. We had previous experiences with other guides not doing what we considered to be up to par.  Jeremy and Brandon not only introduced us to pheasant heaven, but treated us like family while we were there.  We actually got to meet and dine with their families and friends.  And, there were plenty of pheasants.  If you were only able to hit one out of every ten birds that you had a good shot at, you would have still come home with your limit.  These folks set the standard for guide services.  It was truly a pleasure to hunt and be immersed in South Dakota culture. - Looking forward to returning, Chip and Kit Melton - Clute, Texas

"When a person is picking a guide service at random off the Internet, a certain amount of luck can be a good thing. We certainly consider ourselves lucky that we selected Bird Down Lodge for a January ice fishing trip to Lake Oahe. Everything about this trip was outstanding including the guides, the accommodations, and the fishing. During one particular stretch of hot bite, the average size of the walleyes was probably in the three to four pound range which for Kansas boys is pretty impressive. Equally as impressive was how friendly and courteous the guides were. We presented them with a unique challenge as one member of our party had injured an ankle and was walking with a cane. Jeremy and Brandon were awesome in providing extra assistance to him to see that he was able to fish comfortably. I plan to make several return walleye trips to Oahe. And I definitely intend use Bird Down Lodge as our guides. They were excellent in the three areas which I consider most important in a guide service... excellent knowledge of lake, excellent equipment, and excellent personal service. And in addition to all of that, I feel like we made some new friends. So, to summarize, we had a great ice fishing trip thanks to Bird Down Lodge."

"If your ever looking for a fun hunt with many birds, fantastic guides and a great overall experience, I would highly recommend Bird Down Lodge. In three days, I experienced three totally different types of bird hunting all which were extremely successful. Jeremy and Brandon went 100% to keep us in birds through the entire hunt. The converted school bus used on the hunt, efficiently transported hunters, dogs and guide to each location much better than using multiple vehicles. You really need to see and experience this to appreciate the value it adds to the hunting experience. They offer many different package deals to fit your needs but I would recommend the all-inclusive hunt package and have Bird Down Lodge handle everything needed. I'm going back for the walleyes as well."

"This was my first time pheasant hunting in South Dakota and it exceeded all of my expectations. I had an idea of hundreds of birds, good food, and a great time with friends. All of these were met, and more. As soon as our group arrived, we felt like we were at home. Brandon and Jeremy were excellent hosts, and treated us like family. The food was all homemade, and cooked to perfection. They went out of their way to make sure all of the accommodations were above and beyond, and it didn't stop there. The hunting was amazing as there were plenty of opportunities to shoo your limit every day. We moved around to several different sites, all providing more birds than imaginable.
